Closing Ceremony of Stepan Avagyan Memorial: “Jermuk-2016” XI International Open Youth Chess Tournament

The closing ceremony of the Stepan Avagyan memorial: “Jermuk-2016” XI International Open Youth Chess Tournament was held on 4 of July in Jermuk City.​

The participants were congratulated and awarded with prizes by the governor of Vayots Dzor, president of Vayots Dzor chess federation Mr. Sargsyan, the Mayor of Jermuk Mr. Hovhannisyan, the representatives of the only sponsor of the tournament Geoteam Group, the chief organizer of the tournament, president of Chess Academy of Armenia, vice-president of Chess Federation of Armenia Smbat Lputyan. “Jermuk Ashkar” health center also gave prizes to the best participants.

Three chess trainers whose students showed top results were awarded with special prizes by AGBU.

The Armenian chess players from abroad got special prizes too.

As a result of the tournament the following players took places:

2nd place - Manukyan Alex

3rd place - Sargsyan Ann

Under 12

1st place - Sargsyan Sargis

2nd place - Manukyan Sevak

3rd place - Manucharyan Gagik

Under 10

1st place - Gasparyan David

2nd place - Sargsyan Gor

3rd place - Hakobyan Erik
